Frequently Asked Questions

At Plantation Renovation, we know a home remodeling project comes with plenty of questions — about timelines, budgets, design choices, and the construction process itself. We’ve gathered answers to the questions we hear most often from Atlanta homeowners so you can feel informed and confident as you plan your project.

How long does the consultation take?

Most initial meetings last between 1 and 1.5 hours – one or two representatives will meet you at your home to discuss your goals, plans, and see your space. Some minor measurements may be taken, but the goal is to grasp the full scope of your project. Representatives will do their best to answer your questions and give you insight into the construction process.

How long will my renovation take?

Each project is different in many ways, but we typically see kitchen remodels taking between 6 to 8 weeks. Master bathroom remodels take between 6 to 8 weeks, and basement finishes take 10 to 12 weeks. Additions can vary from 10 weeks to four months, depending on the size and complexity. Once the full scale of your specific project has been realized, we will be able to provide you with a realistic timeline for project completion based on the scope of work.

Do you work with interior designers?

We have worked with interior designers in the past, but do not have any on staff. If you would like to hire an interior designer to assist with the process, we are happy to include them (or anyone else) in the process. Ultimately, it is your home, so your opinion and say are the most important.

Do you use subcontractors?

The short answer: yes, we do employ subcontractors. The long answer: We only work with subcontractors that we trust and have worked with for many years. We don’t bid your house out to just anyone. Every single one of our subcontractors is state-licensed and fully insured.

Do you warranty your work?

We warranty our handiwork for up to two years following your final inspection. Our subcontractors and manufacturers offer their own, separate warranties. However, we’re always happy to help in any way that we can to make sure you are satisfied for years to come.

When can you start?

Many factors influence our ability to start a project. Even though a client may be excited and ready to start right away, it is our goal to be in your home for the shortest period of time possible while delivering superior quality renovation. Permit plan review periods, cabinet production lead times, material availability, and selections of these products can be time-consuming. We will do our best to make sure you’re in the know during the whole process.

Do you handle permitting?

Yes, absolutely. We handle all permitting through your city and handle inspections at every stage! We think this provides security and adds value to your renovation.

Are you insured and state licensed?

Yes and yes. We are a fully insured and state-licensed general contracting firm. The only kind you should be trusting with your home.

Do you do design?

We are a design/build firm, which means that we will work with you and produce expert level CAD drawings and 3D renderings of your home. Learn more about our design/build process.
